Our Mission

Making a Difference in Sussex

Objectives

To make our charitable purpose clear and accessible, Sussex Dementia Voices uses a simple Three S framework: SIGNPOST, SHAPE, and SUPPORT. These three principles summarise how we deliver our aims and how our work benefits people affected by dementia across Sussex.

1. SIGNPOSTHelping families affected by dementia to find trusted information, safe local services, and clear pathways to support. We listen to lived experience, visit dementia groups across Sussex, and signpost people to the help they need. This reduces confusion, improves access to reliable support, and strengthens awareness of what is available locally.

2. SHAPEPromoting wellbeing and inclusion by ensuring people affected by dementia can help shape the support they receive and the communities they live in. We value lived experience, encourage social connection, reduce isolation, and share practical innovations, from dementia-friendly devices to new digital tools, that help families feel safer, more confident, and more supported.

3. SUPPORTOffering small grants that strengthen dementia-friendly groups and activities across Sussex. These grants help improve access to local support, enhance community wellbeing, and increase opportunities for people affected by dementia to stay connected, active, and included.
